At Rocky Mountain Axolotls LLC, we not only strive to produce high quality, genetically sound animals but we also take in surrenders! We do this is to ensure the animal is adopted out to an experienced home. This eases the mind of the owners whom have found themselves in a position where they have to re home their beloved pet.
How does it work?
If you have an axolotl that is in need of a new home please reach out to us and let us know. We are located in Colorado Springs and typically take in local surrenders, however if you are able to ship them we will take them in that way as well, shipping will be at the current owners expense. This will depend on our availability to take them in. At times we may not be able to if we are at capacity.
When the animal arrives in our possession it is put in quarantine for a minimum of 30 days. During these 30 days we will observe the animal for signs of illness, once illness is ruled out the animal will be dewormed. We feed high quality foods to ensure proper nutrition. Depending on the condition of the animal we will continue to hold it until it is fully ready for a new home. At this time it will be listed here on the page with the information about the animal.
How do you adopt?
EMAIL US AT ROCKYMTNLOTLS@GMAIL.COM AND PUT THE NAME OF THE ANIMAL IN THE SUBJECT LINE.
In the body of the email please briefly tell us about your experience with axolotls, we will follow up and gather any additional details to determine if it is a good fit!
If keep in mind we look for experienced homes, we require that you have a cycled tank ready for the animal. These animals are NOT to be used for breeding. They should also only be housed with other axoltols of the same gender, no other species.
Adoption fee does apply.
100% of the adoption fee will be donated to a charity that is very near and dear to my heart called the Riley I Whitelaw Memorial Fund.
This charity gives scholarships to students once a year.
